Governments will tell the people it’s good of people’s livelihoods, but that’s a lie. Speaking from living in an indigenous village, a road would mean the destruction of clean water sources, and easy access for logging and mining companies to enter. They build a road, destroy the ability to live off the land, and then sell you water you could get for free before, and build fast food and other stores on the road to poison you with their junk food, so they can treat you at the hospital. All a scam, while they talk about the need to “save the planet” and “fight climate change”, all they care about is money.
